The Jubilee Project made this video featuring Dr. Paul Farmer, co-founder of Partners In Health, to raise awareness for World AIDS Day.
This World AIDS Day on December 1, 2010, join us as we rally to increase global AIDS funding. Global AIDS funding has flat-lined and consequently many programs and efforts to help those living with HIV/AIDS have been negatively affected. Increased, sustained commitment from places like the United States is important not only to provide continual care to these millions around the world but also to provide health care in general to those living without it. We have learned that more funding for HIV/AIDS has translated to a stronger health care system for people in poverty and underserved areas.
Here are 3 things you can do on World AIDS Day to raise awareness for this important cause.
1. If you're in Boston, come join us from 79pm in Boston Common for a rally and vigil. The goal is to get 1000 people out, and there will be performances and speakers! For those of you not in Boston, you can find out an event near you at
2. Studies have shown that handwritten letters are effective ways to make your voice heard. Write a letter and call your local Senator asking them to take leadership on this issue. You can go here to find out how you can contact your senator
3. Share this video with your family, friends, and colleagues. Talk to them about why this issue is important and why now is a crucial time to be taking action.
