YouTube Description
as posted by the channelNFL wide receiver Hines Ward is a force to be reckoned with on the field. His hard-hitting and hard working attitude has earned him the coveted MVP honor in Superbowl XL. Yet, it's his story off the field that inspires us all.
Growing up, Hines Ward was picked on for being different. As a half-Korean, half-black child, he never felt like he really belonged. He felt the humiliation of being bullied every single day, and it was only through football that he learned to cope with the teasing. As an NFL player and a newly sworn-in commissioner on the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, he has made it his mission to fight bullying.
He started his own foundation called The Hines Ward Helping Hands Foundation to help biracial kids who are bullied. Learn more about his foundation here
We also want to congratulate Hines for winning Dancing With The Stars 2011.
