On April 27, 2023, a handful of high school students were busted by police officers when attempting to sneak a cow into their school as a senior prank. During their attempt, the cow got loose and was roaming the city of Niles, Illinois, causing property damage. The cow was on the run for several hours before professionals were able to capture it and place it in a trailer. The students were hit with several ordinance citations including curfew violation and disorderly conduct.
