Officers pulled over 50-year-old Glenn Douglas Perry for an outstanding warrant related to failing to pay child support. The traffic stop escalated when Perry, who was known to authorities as being potentially dangerous, opened fire with a rifle as officers approached his vehicle.

The bodycam video depicts the shootout that ensued, with officers returning fire after Perry began shooting. In the exchange of gunfire, 32-year-old Chetek Police Officer Emily Breidenbach and 23-year-old Cameron Police Officer Hunter Scheel were both struck by gunfire and killed. Perry was also shot during the incident and later died from his injuries at a hospital. The release of the graphic bodycam footage provides a look at the events surrounding the tragic shootout that resulted in the deaths of the two Wisconsin police officers during what began as a routine traffic stop.
