Ashley Benefield is due in court Tuesday for her final pre-trial hearing before a jury decides whether or not she’s guilty of second-degree murder. In September 2020, Ashley ran to a neighbor's house in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, and stated she had just shot her husband. Douglas Benefield had several gunshot wounds to his leg, arm, and chest area. Ashley Benefield claims she shot him in self-defense after months of alleged abuse.
