Michael Shaver's friends reported him missing in 2018 after not hearing from him for three years. Laurie had reportedly been impersonating her husband online and through text messages for months. Shaver’s defense team has pointed to alternate suspects for the killing, including the defendant’s own 7-year-old daughter. Shaver is charged with second-degree murder, domestic violence, and accessory after the fact in connection with Michael's 2015 disappearance.
