Prosecutors argued the attack was premeditated, pointing to Jesse’s statement about targeting “whoever gave me that notice,” while the defense claimed it was a desperate act fueled by stress and lack of support. The jury rejected the defense’s argument, convicting Jones of first-degree murder and more, and he has now been sentenced to 77 years in prison.
