The Fritts family won a $1 million judgment against Cathey after proving he failed to disclose the home’s serious defects, a legal battle that lasted nearly a decade. Police say Cathey’s murder-for-hire plot was caught on the plumber’s work-issued recording device, leading to his arrest on first-degree solicitation of murder charges earlier this month.
