A 20-year-old Florida college student, Ann Mae Demegillo, is accused of giving birth to a baby girl in her Palm Coast home, then allegedly leaving the newborn to die before hiding the body in a duffel bag. Investigators say Demegillo went about her normal day afterward, even performing in a theater production later that night, before returning home and burying the infant in a shallow grave in her backyard. She is now charged with aggravated manslaughter of a newborn child, a first-degree felony in Florida that carries up to 30 years in prison. Law&Crime’s Chris Stewart is On the Case.
