When officers arrived, the vehicle owner, Nyakobo Mar, refused to hand over her identification. The confrontation escalated quickly as Mar refused to comply. Inside her car were three-year-old and six-year-old kids, helpless in the hot sun. Mar was arrested and later pleaded no contest to the charges against her.
