25:25Now PlayingA former Bernalillo Police Officer found himself in handcuffs after an incident in November 2023. Jeramie Nevarez, 29, was booked for battery against a household member after his girlfriend texted a neighbor to call 911 during an argument, according to the Rio Rancho Police Department. The New Mexico woman told police Nevarez held her in a tight hug multiple times and refused to let her go and leave despite her repeated requests to do so. A security camera in the home caught a part of the incident that led police to arrest Nevarez. The 29-year-old was later, reportedly, fired from the police department. Nevarez was also in headlines stemming from a traffic incident where he allegedly held a family at gunpoint for speeding while they were rushing their injured dog to a vet.
