21:48Now PlayingA registered nurse found herself being admitted as a patient after allegedly showing up to work drunk and crashing into multiple cars in the hospital parking lot. Police arrested Candice Vanwaardenburg, 52, after a witness reported her driving erratically and striking vehicles, according to the La Porte County Police. Vanwaardenburg was wheeled into the hospital where she was admitted as a patient instead of clocking in for her 12-hour shift. Doctors evaluated the 52-year-old for a possible stroke before an officer’s questioning revealed the suspect had been drinking earlier in the day. A blood test showed Vanwaardenburg’s BAC at 0.416, just over five times the legal limit to drive a car. She was taken to jail and booked for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident. Watch the incident unfold on this episode of Law&Crime BodyCam.
