Four students were killed in the November 2021 shooting and seven other people were injured. James Crumbley bought the gun Ethan used to carry out the crime just days before the shooting. Investigators believe both James and Jennifer Crumbley ignored their son’s mental health concerns and the state argues there is a possibility they had an idea about the crime, but never reported it, from some of Ethan's disturbing journal entries.
