Defense attorney Brenna Larkin presented her statement, giving a preview of evidence the jury will hear throughout the course of the trial. Kelly is accused of fatally shooting a trespasser on his ranch property shortly after they had crossed the Mexico border. The victim, Gabriel Cuen-Butimea, is reported to have a history of illegally crossing the border. Kelly is charged with second-degree murder and aggravated assault.
