16:33Now PlayingThe family of Boston cop John O'Keefe has filed a lawsuit again Karen Read and two Massachusetts bars Read and O'Keefe went to before she allegedly hit him with her SUV which fatally injured him. The family accused Read's criminal defense team of creating a false narrative in the case. Her first trial ended in a mistrial on July 1 and she's expected to be re-tried in January. Law&Crime's Brian Buckmire has more on the lawsuit.

Karen Read faces several charges including second-degree murder, manslaughter while operating under the influence of alcohol, and leaving the scene of personal injury and death. She was arrested in February of 2022, a few days after John O’Keefe died. If convicted, Read faces life in prison.
