The defense argues Linda was nowhere near her husband at the time of the murder. They also say evidence shows this was an accidental fire and Todd was in a room filled with candles, oil lamps, and a fireplace. The defense argues investigators never looked into the origin and cause of the fire. Linda can be seen crying throughout the defense’s opening statement.
