She was hired by the defense team to assess what was going on with the defendant, Shelby Nealy, psychologically. She went through some of his previous medical records and said that her interactions with Nealy showed her he was reserved and quiet. She went through what Nealy told her about his childhood, which included being sexually abused and the fact that his biological father killed himself one day after Nealy’s 17th birthday.
