Markel was Donna’s ex-son-in-law who had been in an intense custody battle with her daughter, Wendi Adelson, at the time of his murder. Charlie has already been convicted of the crimes and was sentenced to life in prison. Donna was indicted on criminal charges a week after Charlie was found guilty.
