Harris said he and a sergeant found Couch in a wooded area a short distance from her burned-out car. According to Harris, large logs partially covered Couch’s torso, and smoke was still emanating from her body when they arrived. Investigators later revealed Couch suffered 81 stab wounds. Couch’s boyfriend, Eugene Louis-Jacques, is facing murder, aggravated assault, and second-degree arson charges in connection with her death.
