Prosecutors allege Pino was operating the boat when it slammed into a channel marker near Boca Chita Key, while the defense argues the crash was a tragic accident and that there is insufficient evidence to support the charges. Pino reportedly admitted drinking two beers and claimed another boat contributed to the crash. He faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted.
