27:37Now PlayingJeffery Smerer, who pleaded guilty to killing his son and shooting and injuring two of his other children was sentenced on Monday. The Michigan father was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the 2025 murder. Smerer shot and killed his 17-year-old son, and shot his 13-year-old son and 12-year-old daughter, who were critically injured in the incident. Police say more bloodshed was thwarted when the children’s mother and a 20-year-old son intervened.
