They emphasized testimony from her best friend’s final phone call, along with toxicology evidence and expert medical findings showing she would have gone into cardiac arrest within minutes of ingestion. The state told jurors that Taylor remained with her after she became sick and failed to immediately seek help, and is therefore guilty of first-degree murder in both her death and the death of her unborn child.
