On Tuesday, Kadeem Ambrose, two-year-old Karter’s father, took the stand in the case against his then-girlfriend Kianna Davis. He described the last morning that he saw his son before he died and the conversations he had with Kianna that weekend. Prosecutors allege Davis and co-defendant Kiyon Benton beat the toddler with an unknown object, causing fatal injuries, including a lacerated liver, before failing to seek immediate medical care. Ambrose got emotional at points, talking about his son.
