59:30Now PlayingA man on death row who killed his wife and three members of her family is asking the Ohio Supreme Court for a new trial, claiming his defense attorneys were ineffective. Gurpreet Singh was sentenced to death after being convicted of murdering his wife, Shalinderjit Singh, his father-in-law, mother-in-law, and his wife’s aunt in 2019. Prosecutors said Singh was found covered in blood, with gunshot residue on his hands and evidence tying him to the crime scene. His attorney argues mistakes made during his trial, including waiving a jury trial, prevented him from receiving a fair trial. The Ohio Supreme Court will issue a ruling at a later date.
