52:43Now PlayingKouri Richins said she was reading a letter to her boys at sentencing — but the statement went much further. In a stunning and deeply personal speech, Kouri criticized the justice system, blamed others for turning her children against her, attacked the court, and insisted once again that she did not murder Eric Richins. Lawyer Lee breaks down what she said — and what it may reveal about where this case goes next.
On March 4, 2022, Eric Richins died of a massive fentanyl overdose. His wife, Kouri Richins, later wrote a children’s book about helping her children cope with his death. Then, on March 16, 2026, a jury convicted her of aggravated murder for poisoning him with fentanyl.
