7:04Now PlayingWith the Chancellor Jeremy Hunt announcing reforms to 'unfair' child benefit rules in the Spring Budget, money saving expert Martin Lewis tells Shelagh Fogarty what will happen next.
Lewis believes these reforms are particularly important at this time for the Conservative government: 'I told the Chancellor: 'You're going into an election, this is actually what's profoundly annoying people...'
Laying out what will happen following this announcement, Lewis says: 'first of all, there will be a consultation on individual income for families' which he notes 'will not be a quick fix'.
'Secondly, or in the mean time, from 6th April you'll start to lose child benefits altogether from £80,000, and those earning below that will get some form of child benefits.'
