YouTube Description

as posted by the channel

Tom Swarbrick speaks to Financial Treasury Secretary, Nigel Huddleston, to discuss whether science secretary Michelle Donelan was right to pay for her libel case with taxpayers' money.

Donelan has faced calls to quit after the government admitted taxpayers payed £15,000 in damages because she falsely accused an academic of supporting Hamas.

The amount was paid 'without admitting any liability' according to the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology.

The Liberal Democrats have now urged for a Cabinet Office inquiry into the department’s use of taxpayer funds to cover her legal costs and are demanding that she cover the expenses from her own pocket.
