The announcement comes in the wake of the fallout between the Tech mogul and President Donald Trump, leading to Musk leaving his position in the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Lewis Goodall is joined by John Scardino, from Democrats Abroad, to discuss whether Musk’s American Party poses a threat to the two-party system.
Scardino thinks that ‘anything that Musk does is only going to take away from the Republicans’, when asked by Lewis whether this is a ’serious attempt’ to create a political opposition.
The division within the Democratic Party is also called into question, with Lewis asking Scardino how the party is moving forward after their loss in the recent election.
