9:55Now PlayingBrian Kabateck and Shant Karnikian examine Trump's profane outburst at a Ford factory worker. During a tour of Ford's Dearborn F-150 plant, line worker TJ Sabula, a UAW Local 600 member, shouted "pedophile protector" at Trump—referencing his Epstein connections and the DOJ's withholding of 5 million pages of Epstein documents. Trump pointed at Sabula, mouthed "fuck you" twice, and flipped him off. Ford immediately suspended Sabula without pay. Brian notes nothing gets under Trump's skin more than Epstein, and argues the recent flurry of activity—Venezuela, Greenland, Minnesota ICE attacks—is a distraction from Epstein revelations. Shant emphasizes a private employer cannot discipline a union worker for making political statements, especially when it wasn't a threat. The White House called Sabula "a lunatic wildly screaming expletives in a complete fit of rage," though Sabula only said two words and used no expletives. UAW Vice President Laura Dickerson issued a statement: "He believes in freedom of speech, a principle we wholeheartedly embrace. Workers should never be subjected to vulgar language or behavior by anyone—including the President of the United States." The union vowed full protection under negotiated contract language. Brian's legal analysis: Sabula has a legitimate complaint and will win. GoFundMe campaigns raised over $810,000 for Sabula, who told the Washington Post he has "no regrets." Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib defended Sabula's First Amendment right. Trump later gave an incoherent speech at the Detroit Economic Club claiming grocery prices are falling (they're not—up 2.7% over the last year) and dismissing "affordability" as a fake word while blaming Biden.
