YouTube Description
as posted by the channelAttorneys Brian Kabateck and Shant Karnikian dig into the growing scandal engulfing Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer, the one-term Oregon congresswoman whose department is now the subject of an Inspector General investigation, multiple Equal Employment Opportunity complaints, and allegations that would be ironic coming from any agency but are especially stunning coming from the agency responsible for protecting American workers. At least three staffers have filed formal discrimination complaints alleging a hostile work environment and retaliation against women who reported her husband, Dr. Shawn DeRemer, for unwanted sexual touching inside the Department of Labor's headquarters. He's now banned from the building. Beyond the husband's conduct, allegations include an inappropriate relationship with a member of her security detail, drinking in her office during work hours, directing staff to clean her closets and run personal errands, fabricating official events to cover personal travel, and a strip club incident involving subordinates on an official trip. Her director of advance was fired after sitting for an interview with the Inspector General. Her chief of staff and deputy chief of staff were pressured to resign. More than two dozen employees described a demoralized staff, an absentee secretary, and overall chaos. Brian and Shant predict she's next on Trump's chopping block.
