Disney’s latest box office bomb shows that no fairytale is safe from the House of Mouse’s weird woke crusade.

With a lead actress who openly mocks the original story, uses promo tours to plug her political causes, and comes across more like the wicked queen than the princess, it’s no wonder the film's box office numbers are sadder than Bambi’s mum.

It can't all be blamed on the star. It was a focus-grouped mess before then. King of Dwarves Peter Dinklage got offended on behalf of little people everywhere, so the studio decided to use weird CGI people instead. Maybe other dwarves would've preferred Peter Dinklage to help them get work instead of preserve their dignity via the medium of unemployment?

Even The Guardian called it “exhaustingly awful” and criticised the “pseudo-progressive approach”. When you're too “pseudo-progressive” for The Guardian, it might be time to eat the poisoned apple and let someone else write the scripts.
