17:21Now PlayingA 20-year-old Muslim woman, Gulnaz Khatoon, was allegedly burned to death by a Hindu man and his friends after she rejected his marriage proposal. After she threatened to report the men for sexually assaulting her, the accused poured kerosene over her and set her on fire on Oct. 30th; she later died due to her burn injuries covering 75% of her body on Nov. 15th. The victim's family said that the accused, Satish Kumar Rai, had been harassing Gulnaz to marry him, adding that Khatoon refused to enter into an interfaith marriage with Rai, and was already engaged to another man. Enraged at her refusal, Rai and his friends killed her. Before her death, she was filmed describing the attack in detail and identifying her attackers by name. Thus far, the local police have made no arrests in connection to the attack. After Khatoon's death, her family staged a demonstration with their daughter's body in front of the city square to call for justice.
