9:26Now PlayingGoogle has revealed that a group linked to the Iran Revolutionary Guard attempted to hack into the personal email accounts of roughly a dozen people connected to President Biden and former president Trump since May 2024.
The tech giant said the group is still actively targeting people associated with Biden and Trump, as well as Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, including current and former government officials and presidential campaign affiliates.
The new report expands on Microsoft’s report released last week revealing suspected Iranian cyber interference in this year’s US presidential election.
Trump’s campaign revealed over the weekend that it had been hacked and that sensitive, internal documents were stolen and distributed declaring Iran was to blame.
Ryan Ellis, an associate professor of communication studies at Northeastern University joined LiveNOW from FOX’s Josh Breslow to discuss the situation.
