6:17Now PlayingKentucky Governor Andy Beshear provided an update after a major storm left eight people dead. According to the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, a car with two people inside was swept off a roadway on Saturday night by floodwaters.
Governor Beshear said hundred of people were stranded by flooding and had to be rescued. Most of the deaths, including a mother and 7-year-old child, were caused as a result of cars getting stuck in high water.
Officials have rescued about 1,000 people across the state since the storm started on Saturday. Parts of Tennessee has received up to six inches of rain.
