7:38Now PlayingIn audio from former President Joe Biden's interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur, the president appeared to have difficulty recalling significant events. These included the date of his son Beau's death and when he concluded his vice presidency.
Following over a year of congressional demands and questions regarding the former president's memory and mental state, audio from interviews between Biden and Special Counsel Hur has been released. The audio, obtained by Axios, concerns Hur's investigation into the former president's handling of classified documents while he was serving as vice president.
According to Biden's response to Hur's inquiry about the location of his active work papers around 2017 and 2018, his son Beau Biden was either deployed or terminally ill during that period. At one point, the former president said to himself "When did Beau die?" and a lawyer answered that it was in 2015.
