4:12Now PlayingMinnesota State Fair patrons have said that they are encountering some long lines at rides on the first day of the fair. Local reporters are hearing that highway traffic appears to be flowing smoothly so far, with drive times only slightly higher than regular weekdays. Although some parts of the fair are off to a slow start, we know Leon Purvis from Fox 9 is having a great time so far. He is speaking with LiveNOW’s Andy Mac right now.
"There’s a lot of exciting things happening on the ground now, even before gates open," Minnesota State Fair spokesperson Maria Hayden said. "The day before the fair is always exciting here on the grounds. It’s hopping. Everyone is putting finishing touches and getting ready to welcome people here."
