Disney preempted Jimmy Kimmel's show indefinitely following Kimmel's comments about alleged Charlie Kirk assassin Tyler Robinson.
We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it," Kimmel said during his show on Monday night.
Hours before ABC’s decision, Brendan Carr, Trump’s handpicked head of the Federal Communications Commission, warned that the broadcaster and its local affiliates could face repercussions if Kimmel was not punished.
"We can do this the easy way or the hard way," Carr said. "These companies can find ways to change conduct, to take action, frankly, on Kimmel, or there is going to be additional work for the FCC ahead."
The news of Kimmel's suspension broke while President Trump was on a state visit to the U.K. Despite the news breaking after midnight in London, Trump posted on Truth Social to celebrate what he called "Great News for America."
Kimmel has not commented publicly.
