32:23Now PlayingWe are learning more on Monday as the state of Minnesota and the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul announced that they are suing the federal government to stop an influx of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents following the fatal shooting of a Minneapolis woman. The lawsuit comes alongside a request for a temporary restraining order to halt the enforcement action or limit the operation. Mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey, spoke alongside other local and state officials including Keith Ellison, the Minnesota Attorney General. Saint Paul Mayor Kaohly Her also spoke during the event.
According to the Associated Press, the lawsuit alleges that Operation Metro Surge violates federal law because it's arbitrary and capricious. The Trump administration argues it's about fighting fraud, however the lawsuit pushes back by saying ICE agents have no expertise in combatting fraud in government programs.
