as posted by the channelNASA's Artemis II crew has reestablished contact with mission control after a communications blackout while the Orion spacecraft traveled behind the moon.
In the broadcast, a spokesperson for NASA said this also marks Artemis II's days-long mission back home to Earth.
NASA said the communication block was expected. This is because the moon blocks the Deep Space Network signals, temporarily.
ON THE WAY HOME:
Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, Mission specialist Christina Koch, and Mission specialist Jeremy Hansen are now on their days-long return to Earth.
The crew is expected to splashdown off the coast of San Diego, California on Friday, April 10, around 8:07 p.m.
After splashing down, the team will be flown via helicopter to the USS John P. Murtha. They will then undergo post-flight medical evaluations in the ship's medical bay, before being flown to NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas.
