Columbia University has been at the center of various controversies recently - from allegations of antisemitism towards Jewish students on campus over the past year, to protests taking over the campus. Now, with the Trump administration in power, Columbia University is under the spotlight again - with a student of theirs, Mahmoud Khalil, who was an active member in their campus's chapter of SJP (Students for Justice in Palestine), being detained and held by the government. The Trump administration has made it clear that they are going to try and deport anyone who they find has expressed opinions and taken part in protests that they view as "a threat to national security".
