10:21Now PlayingWilliams, Arizona —Chelsea Grimm was 32 years old when she disappeared during a cross-country trip in September 2023.
Chelsea left San Diego on September 24 and intended to drive to Connecticut for a wedding and to visit her family. After reaching Arizona, however, she changed her plans and told her parents she intended to camp for several days before returning to California.
On September 28, a Williams police officer encountered Chelsea near the Williams Cemetery. Bodycam footage captured Chelsea explaining that she had become emotional while photographing a memorial to fallen soldiers. She told the officer that she planned to camp in the area.
A woodcutter later reported seeing Chelsea on September 30 near Forest Road 6, northeast of Ash Fork. That remains the last reported sighting of her.
Chelsea’s family reported her missing on October 4. The following day, hunters located her locked white 2019 Ford Escape abandoned on a remote road in the Kaibab National Forest. Two tires were flat, and several of Chelsea’s belongings—including her camera—remained inside. Chelsea and her pet bearded dragon were nowhere to be found.
Extensive ground, air, and K-9 searches failed to locate Chelsea or establish how she left the area.
This video examines bodycam footage and public records documenting the discovery of Chelsea’s abandoned SUV, evidence collected near the vehicle, interviews conducted by law enforcement, and the account of a witness who reported encountering Chelsea shortly before she disappeared.
Chelsea Grimm has never been located, and the circumstances surrounding her disappearance remain unresolved. The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate.
Anyone with information concerning Chelsea Grimm is urged to contact the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office at 928-774-4523 @@or call 911. Chelsea is listed in NamUs as MP110165.
