His words and images have appeared in books, magazines, and exhibitions worldwide. For 11 years, Saddi toured his “Decolonizing Beauty” project of therapeutic portrait sessions, and he continues to play a pivotal role in a healing arts renaissance of his generation. Respected as a "PhotoVangelist" and a "Visual Alchemist," Saddi's work was most recently centered in the national storytelling project "Survivors Speak" and the TimeDone campaign with Crime Survivors for Safety and Justice.
Saddi is also a New Orleans native. Deeply rooted in a loving, artful, progressive community from day one, he was entrenched in New Orleans until The Storm landed. Hurricane Katrina propelled him in traumatic and ultimately freeing ways. Here on ASCENDING, Saddi opens up about his healing journeys and his intimate relationship to (and understanding of) storms... spiritually and materially.
