41:03Now PlayingThere’s something that I did as a parent when our son was starting a new school in the seventh grade that I deeply regret… I made him cut his hair.
At the time, he had super cool blue hair inspired by his favorite gamer @Ninja, I of course was worried that he would get teased and so I kept pressuring him to cut his hair before school started.
I realize now I was sending a message I deeply regret:
“it’s more important to fit in and be liked by other people, than to be yourself.”
I was also teaching him that love is transactional…”if you do what I want you to do, then I’ll like/love you.”
I unpack the story, and how it relates to you in this video and everyone watching the livestream went nuts with their epiphanies.
I am reading and discussing my international best selling book The High 5 Habit to you for free on social media cover to cover.
I’m going to try to finish the book by the end of the year, and you can find all the videos of me reading the book and answering your questions around the world on both YouTube and IGTV.
Today we pick up the reading with this story I hate about my mistake as a mom on page 54 in Chapter 4…
Please tag your friends who need to hear this and who can’t get a copy of the book yet where they live… The High 5 Habit is coming out in 31 languages and they are starting to release around the world this month. 🌎🔥
