5:21Now PlayingA bill that would create a new type of corporation in Minnesota was introduced during a press conference on Tuesday, February 21st. A bi-partisan group of legislators, including State Senators Chris Gerlach and John Marty, and State Representative Linda Runbeck, promoted a public Benefit Corporation or, 'B-Corp' bill, that is designed to fit between for-profit corporations and non-profits. This hybrid corporation would allow investors in 'B-Corps' to profit, most likely at a lower rate than 'for-profits', while at the same time create much needed benefits for the greater community.
