5:57Now PlayingOn a divided 9-4 vote Wednesday, April 24, the Senate Tax Committee approved the omnibus tax bill, which would raise about $1.8 billion dollars in new revenue. The bill expands the income tax rate to 9.4 percent for married filers with taxable income at about $141,000 and single filers at $80,000. The bill also expands sales taxes to clothing and services, but reduces the rate to 6 percent.
