2:28:18Now PlayingOn a 37 to 30 vote, the Senate gave its final approval to a bill Monday, May 13, that will establish same-sex marriage in Minnesota, as Governor Dayton is expected to sign the bill Tuesday, May 14, 5 p.m., on the steps of the Capitol.
After four hours of discussion and speeches, the Senate took the historic vote. The bill, sponsored by Sen. Scott Dibble, DFL-Mpls, adopts the House language using the term "civil marriage" for all state-recognized same-sex and opposite-sex marriages.
