19:15Now PlayingFollowing Senate passage of H.F. 916, Crow Wing will likely join the ranks of seventy other Minnesota counties in filling the treasurer, auditor and recorder positions through county board appointment rather than by a local election. Senator Carrie Ruud, R-Breezy Point, said the bill comes at the request of Crow Wing County and follows a growing trend in the state. “Five counties were given this authority last year. Seventy of eighty-seven counties have already implemented one or more of these changes in their county offices,” she said.
