33:51Now PlayingGovernor Mark Dayton, Education Commissioner Brenda Casselius and several Minnesota school superintendents spoke to the press on Friday, August 4, to announce the expansion of pre-kindergarten programs throughout the state. Governor Dayton had requested $175 million dollars from the legislature to fully fund early learning programs for four-year-olds statewide as part of the effort to address Minnesota’s achievement gap. Legislators agreed to a $50 million dollar expansion which will allow an additional 35 school districts to receive funding this year.
Following the press conference, Governor Dayton took questions from the press on a variety of topics.
