25:23Now PlayingThe Senate gave its final approval Thursday, March 22, to the Senate and House agreement authorizing $10 million dollars to fix the problems with MNLARS while creating legislative oversight of the software upgrade project.
Specifically, the bill would dedicate $9.65 million dollars in funding for I.T. improvements. The bill would provide an additional $350,000 to the Office of Legislative Auditor for reviewing and issuing a quarterly report on the progress of the MNLARS improvement. Furthermore, the bill creates a mechanism for the legislature to stop funding if specified benchmarks identified by the Department of Public Safety and Minnesota IT Services (MN.IT) are not met.
