32:43Now PlayingSenator Ron Latz, DFL-St. Louis Park, outlined two amendments he intends to offer Thursday, April 26, on the Senate floor during debate of the omnibus supplemental appropriations bill. The finance package adjusts state budgets in all areas and funds several new initiatives, including programs to improve school safety, combat opioid addiction, fix the state's auto licensing and registration system, fund efforts to reduce elder abuse, and support rural housing development.
Latz's first amendment would allow courts to restrict a person's access to guns when they pose a danger to others or themselves. The second amendment would extend criminal background checks to private sales, gun show markets and online transactions within a permit to purchase system.
